BROKEN front suspension, upper control arm

:(
hit a bump pretty hard last night and broke the Front sway bar end link that connects from the shock to the FRONT sway bar. Heres some pics

As you can see the upper bar is broken from the sway

This is what it connects to

Hoping you guys could recomend me a new one of good quality, hopefully red/orange to match my car....

Also anybody ever have this happen to them?

My car is Eibach springs lowered all around has Eibach sways, and i just recently put on 25mm spacer in the front.

THANKS!!!!

I had the same thing happen. Broke the right one. I had already ordered a package from Pedders that included end links when I found it. I wonder how many other people are having this happen.

The other good thing about those endlinks is that they are adjustable for length, and while the BMR instructions will get you in the ballpark, you can do better still. Know that if you have a good level surface to set up on (or are willing to shim it to be good) you can remove all preload from the front bar. Bolt and lock one endlink first before installing the second one. You then set the length in the second endlink to just fit without having to push up or pull down on the bar, which will put it at zero preload. If you're picky, match your weight in barbell weight plates set in the driver seat and footwell.

Should be. IIRC their 4th Gen products had a pretty good reputation.

SoTHavok,

Your aftermarket suspension changes have most likely changed the relationship of the sway bar to strut sway bar mount link length. The reason the link bent is that it is too long.

What is a 25mm spacer?

Wheel spacers don't change the geometry.

Before I get too deep in detail, I should say it is possible to bend an endlink from a severe pot hole or other type of dramatic front end impact. If that is the case, we just replace the endlink and move on.

The adjustment on the Eibach bar has a vertical orientation, if my memory is correct. Are the endlink studs attached to the bar through the hole closest to the thick portion of the bar or the hole closest to the end of the bar?
