4-6 Month wait? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Went to order camaro yesterday..every dealer told me 3 months but the one I was about to order it from said that whatever dealer in NY says 3 month wait is lying, its 4-6 month wait (right now).

He told me that 2ss/RS black on black is the most popular order and that also has an effect.

Seriously, half a year? I dont have a car right now but I dont know if I can wait that long. By the time the car arrives if I wait another few months 2011 models will start coming out...

Also said that allocation of camaro to dealership affects things and even the dealership I went to (which was the largest chevy dealership Ive been to), said 4-6mo.

What gives?

allocations are the name of the game here. Your first questions to any dealer should be "do you have an open allocation", "if not how many are in line before me". I just got mine recently, took 2 months to get an SS/RS RJT. 6 months doesn't sound right, things are slowing down. Call around, there are dealers on this board that you can order from at or below MSRP and that have allocations and you should get your car in 2 months.

i ordered mine in june got in in sep so 4 months is about right.

Color has NO effect on timing.

If you want one sooner call Becky @ Rodgers Chevrolet she has open allocations she can get one and have it shipped to your dealership (small fee to be added).

Mine was exactly 11 weeks from order to pick up. My first dealer I ordered from told me 8 months (that was back in june) After a month with not moving from 1100 I cancelled my order with them, went to another dealer and got my 2ss/rs IOM in 2 months.

My order was placed 9-26. Car is done and should be here this week. My dealer has been great so far!! 2SS RS CGM 6M

Yep mine was a four month wait. To the day. My car arrived at the dealer exactly 4 months after ordering but, my dealer was up front and stated that it would be 4-6. Be patient it's worth the wait. Trust Me! Plus if you get it right at the end of Winter and you can start driving in decent weather you will maximize your Perma Grin!.

Wow! Just ordered mine today....I was told I would get it by New Years....Can't wait. Does anyone know if any aftermarket company is making a rear seat to accomodate a third person(small child of course)?

The dealer I used has 3 SS's on the lot. Maybe one is something you want. Cyber grey, RJT, and white. Healy Bros. in Goshen. Ask for Jeremy and tell him Alan refered you and he will work with you.

check the cars for sale on the forum.. you can probably find what you want New on a dealer lot.
