Anyone use a 3 or 4 inch DA on rims?

was thinking of getting the smaller DA for pokishing clear coted rims, was curious if anyone has done this and if so your impressions?

Here's a decent thread on the subject:

Post #20 shows what I did to a friend's SS polished wheels with an Adams 4" focus pad.

You could probably get similar results with the focus pads on a cordless drill.

I polished my polished OEM's with the regular DA from griots and while it did a great job of poliishing out the fine micro scratches and making the wheels shine much better I could not get to the tighter spots, figured a 3 or 4 would do that better and be easier to handle in the process. figured I would order separate pads to use on the wheels and for standard uses on paint surfaces on the rest of the car!

I use my 3" polisher for wheels and pillars. It works great for those areas. It doesn't necessarily reach perfection, but it makes them look a lot better.
