How to mount factory FRONT license plate holder

My dealer didn't mount the front plate holder and will likely need to do that. Anybody have a link or info on where to drill the four holes and mount the bracket?!! The dealership is three hours away or I'd bring it back for them to do.

There have been other threads with options other than drilling - here's a couple http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27422; http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33165

I have not mounted my front plate required for New Jersey and have had no interest by the police/state troopers so far...

Don't mount it, its worthless!! I haven't mounted mine and have driven past plenty of state troopers and sheriffs, not a single one has pulled me over yet.

imm with you on that one...I never put mine on and neither did another local guy.
what I figure is that some factory tint isnt legal (ive been pulled over for that and explained to cops and let it go) so why would a car that comes from the factory w/o front plates be illegal? I put the blame on GM...lol

Agreed - unless you do something else as a violation or roll-up on a Registration check I doubt whether the authorities will bother to roll on you...

I pulled into a Sam's Club parking lot to find a local police car and state trooper car having a meet - both looked at my Camaro, gave the thumbs-up and continued their discussion.

I know its a matter of chance/time for a "any ticket is better than no ticket" patrol but I'll take my chances for now...

If your state requires a front plate you have to have it. Just because it is not factory installed doesn't mean it is legal. That is why they make a dealer installed bracket. Why give the cops a reason to pull you over?

Thats what I'm saying though, Iowa DOES require a front license plate. I haven't had any issues with not having mine on and do NOT plan to install it, ever. It ruins the car. If you're not driving like an idiot, they shouldn't have a reason to pull you over anyway.

Point is even if you are not driving like an idiot they DO have a reason to pull you over. You don't have the required front plate. It's just a matter of time before they nail you. Why take the chance? What if you just left a restaurant or bar and had a few drinks. Now they can get you for drinking and driving. I just don't want them to have a reason to stop me.

Well, first off, I wouldn't drink and then drive. And why are you so paranoid here? Are cops in your area that bad? Its not gonna be a huge ticket if they do pull me over so I'm not that worried about it.

I guess I could hold off unless I get a ticket for it. Maybe it will just be a 'fix-it' ticket anyway. But, if I do get busted, anyone have a procedure for installation. I'd rather just use the factory one as it doesn't look too bad to me.

you could always use 3m double sided tape, 1 dealer near me are installing them that way instead of drilling holes
