They are not a race car, but a car built to a price point, and what a great car it is IMO. If anyone thinks this is the same spec T-6060 they put in a 150k Bentley GT, 85k Viper and Z06, or even the 50k GT500 they are mistaken. Its a 35k car for Chrissakes, thats right where it should be as far as trimmings, performance and function. Let them replace the defective part, but forget about it being a car that you can flog and abuse or even be in the same league as the fore-mentioned cars. I'm just so happy Chevy built the thing

So Cliffy...do you believe that the Tranny should be of enough durability that it should be able to take the HP that the engine puts out?

Only time will tell if what they spec'd to Tremec for the car is going to cut the mustard with guys who live to spin it to 4200 and dump the clutch in launch mode. I didn't buy my car for that purpose although I do hammer it occasionaly from a rolling start and am quite happy with it |

I hear ya. I just have to wonder why of all the Tremec trannies that are out there...the Camaro's is the only one popping shafts. If it was metalergy, why didn't we see bad batches with other vehicle's trannies too ya know?
I'm wondering if maybe the comp mode needs some readjusting also because perhaps it's allowing too much torque to go through the tranny at once, or maybe its not distributing the power as gradually as it should. Who knows. I would like to know that I COULD use the competition mode...after all they gave it as an option, and plenty of other 30k cars can handle that sort of thing.
