OEM pad replacement
Want to replace front pads this week, with same one with the roller skates. I have the new pads 22907156, 140.00. My question is, will the retainer come off, once I remove pins as easy as in the videos, I watched, or is their something I should be aware of or do. All the videos and DIY were without the skates. Thanks, for any advice or help.

Just as easy as the video. 10min job. I couldn't believe it either. I'm use to fanangling with c-clamps to compress the Pistons. Ect ect. Changing brembos is cake

you probably will need to tap the roller skates to get the pads out. But as failshift said, 10min job..... Changing brembos is cake.

It sure wouldn't hurt to crack the bleeders and top off the fluid.

How many miles? Is the rotor smooth, have any hot spots etc? I personally either have the rotors turned or replaced...that way new pads bed in properly, last longer work better and save you $$$$....
read up on proper bed in +1 on caliper bleed w/ fresh fluid brakes are yer life...don't skimp...peace out

I replaced the rotors when I did my pads. I measured the rotor and they were almost at the manufacturer throw away thickness.

Yes, I'd definitely replace rotors if they are original with that much mileage. Just not worth it not to given cost is so low for them. However, this will introduce greater cost above the cost of rotors, those caliper bracket bolts should be replaced. Sure some people don't, but it's not a best practice not to. Just did brakes on my 2LT and replaced rotors, not such a bad job overall. BTW, worth noting that I have 70k on original everything and pads looked good on outside. HOWEVER, the inside pads on front were horrible. Much more worn (presumably due to lack of caliper sliding) but also the metal shim totally disintegrated and the shim was a disaster - bloated rusting hulk and took up much pedal travel to compress each time I'm sure. Will post a pic if I didn't toss it, can't remember right now... So, lesson learned, 5 years on brakes in New England - don't guy by looks alone (on outside at least).
