I have an idea for sway bar end links. Like I said before I work in the parts dept at a dealership. So I was in the warehouse digging around and came across some end links that look way more heavy duty than the Camaro one. Chances of it being a direct fit is slim tho. But.... I have a tap and die set, a welding machine and a lathe. So I can easily make them longer or shorter as needed. Basically all I need is the ball joints on the end of them. I don't like the idea of having an exposed heim joint on my daily driver so I think these will fit the bill better for me. Here's a pic of them:

Btw, I got permission from the manager to bring home the chassis ears for the weekend, so maybe I'll get to the bottom of this. I'll put more effort into it because it's my car and I'm not racing the clock at work.

Very cool. You don't have to make them, you could just use Pedders Hiegh Effciency Endlinks....

Well that's a hell-of-a deal....for you! Lol

I'm not doing anything just yet. Ima put the ears on it first and try to track it down. Seems like members have found a few different things wrong but describing the same noise. So it could who knows what it could be. Tightening that nut did something tho, so I still think it lies in the top of the strut.

Have you had a dealership take a look at the vehicle? They might be able to diagnose the vehicle for you and point you in the right direction to fixing the vehicle yourself. I hope that helps you. If you need anymore help let me know.

I measured the end links. The ones on the car are 16" long. The ones I dug up here are 12" long. I'll do a little more digging to find some longer ones

YES....thank you for posting this solution.

Also...the rubber is soft and bendable...strut movement can easily overpower the rubber piece if it needs to move. So I dont see that as a problem.

Just installed my toilet fix! I'll see how it works over the weekend. I also have some endlink issues so I'll have to descriminate between the 2.

Here's what I came up with:
-mic connected to the top of the left strut shaft I can hear it
-connected to strut tower by the air box stud.. No noise
-connected to the sub frame in front of lower control arm..nothing
-connected to sway bar near the left chasis mount...nothing
-connected to the right strut shaft I can hear a tiny but but not much
-and finally connected to the left sway bar end link, sounds about the same as on the left strut shaft. These two places are where I hear the rattle. So it's in the left strut somewhere. I just have to figure out where. I'm going to jack it up, take the wheel off and maybe partially remove the strut and make sure the isolators on the spring are on correctly and the spring is clocked correctly. Maybe tomorrow or Sunday.
