I have the Solo 3, I like it because its cordless. Seems to work pretty good no complaints except it eats batteries were my Solo 2 would last alot longer.

I don't use one, but I haven't done much research either. If I found a good one that is "installed" instead of a dash-mounted type thing, I'd be interested. I just don't want wires and stuff all over my dash or suction cups and stuff. I'm too anal retentive to handle that.

Had the previous gen Cobra in my Stang, couple issues:
The compass screen would quit working (I kept in direct sunlight at home or office sometimes - totally my fault), State Troopers out here use laser and anything less than a jammer is a waste of money, and I got used to the beeping - had it on highway setting for it's sensitivity and tolerated the false positives from motion detectors...

I've had several over the years, and my most recent is the Escort Passport 9500ix. It has a built-in GPS, and a database of red light and speed cameras that you can update once a week using the PC app and USB port. The detector also automatically searches for and locks out the annoying K-Band radar that is used by 511.org and others to report traffic speed conditions. After a few passes through a frequently traveled route, it will identify false alarms by location, and lock them out. For instance, I travel from San Jose to Redwood City on US101 quite a bit. The only time the detector lights up is when there is Ka police radar from the CHP. No K band false alerts at all! The detector also allows you to manually add the location of any speed traps and cameras that are not in the data base.
As far as sensitivity, the performance is really good. I get a Ka band alert usually about 1 mile from the radar source, sometimes earlier, sometime later, but always have enough time to slow down. Here is an independent review of the 9500ix: http://www.radardetector.org/reviews...tector-review/

Valentine One. Used others. Know others who have converted to the V1. All of us are tried and true converts. Might be a little expensive, but it's the best one on the market. I like knowing where my threats are coming from.

I have a Beltronics v955. Cost me $130, and it has paid for itself many times over. I love it. They have good customer service too. I had to send it back in once and while it was being fixed I felt naked without it. With that said, when I can I will upgrade to the V1. I've wanted a V1 since childhood (advertising is a b&*&#)

I'd be interested to see some options for mounting the V1. I might get one if it would be inconspicuous.

I have the V1 and would be happy to show you how I have it installed where no wires are visable.
