Anyone hearing a rattling sound coming from the shifter? I just installed it and the faster I accelerate, the rattling gets louder.

the hurst is noisy. I havent got it on the camaro yet but i had it on my 2007 C6 and it was pretty noise. I put dynamat in as many places as I could and it seemed to help. It is just the nature of the beast. You get used to it. Try to dynamat your console and anywhere you can near the shifter.

I installed mine today it took about 1.5 hours with my 4 year old daughter bugging (helping) me in my driveway on ramps and jack stands , for me the hardest part was getting the bottom dust boot back on but not that bad . I do get some noise from the shifter buy it's all good .

Thanks Nick

make sure you have the blue loctite on the bolts and if needed put some lithium grease down in the bearing.. that will also help. it is normal to hear a bit more noise coming thru the trans due to vibration etc. this is because there is less vibration dampening with the new shifter

I installed mine tonight- took about 1 1/2 hours, long enough for the wife to watch a movie. Thoughts:

The shifter sounds more mechanical- you can hear the thing going into gear, so it is much louder than the stock shifter.

The shifts are much quicker- I mean a LOT quicker.

It is VERY old school- if you like the quiet stock shifter, you won't like this one.

My wife doesn't like the noise from the Hurst shifter- which means it's perfect!

Remember, the GM Hurst is only 20% throw reduction, where the shifter from Hurst Aftermarket is 44%.

Yes I understand but for me it's all about warranty I'm on my 3rd transmission 1st went due to out put shaft 2nd had a vibration they couldn't figure out so now I'm here on my 3rd one and there's. No way I'd justify losing great warranty coverage

There is absolutely no way a shifter will void your warranty.
