I already gave my dealer $2500 to get his first 1le spot BUT I am very torn after reading the C6 warranty board...WOW! This coupled with the fact that I can't get the A8 in it, might send me back to the gt350 or another low mile 14/15 1le. My 14 has lasted 28k miles, getting the shit beat out of it since the first day I got it. When I heard that the production of the new camaro was moving from Canada back to the USA I stated my quality concerns on these boards...wish I was wrong. I have tracked the new SS and it was a GREAT, fast car...with the A8, I would tear up laguna if it lasts (smelled hot after 2-3 laps). Right now I can get a low mile 14/15 for $29, buy zl1 brakes for 2k, z28 suspension for $3400 and be ready to kill most other cars. That would be a $10k savings ez

We've all heard these claims of the 16 SS being faster and the 17 1LE being 3 seconds faster around a track than our cars(13-15 1LE's), but I'm waiting for proof.. I want to see a head 2 head or something.. That's basically saying that the new 1LE will lap right along with the $70k Z28, which outlaps the stingray and many other high performance cars 2-3x the price.. I can't see it.. But if it is true, I highly doubt you're gonna get one for less than $50k.. The package is going to at least be double what the 5th gen was. Which like others have said, is Corvette territory... But if it out laps the corvette and hangs with the Z28, then it's still a hell of a bargain..
This can only make me think.. what the hell is the new ZL1/Z28 gonna be capable of!?!? And even more, what kind of crazyness will the new ZR1 unleash.. Time will tell but the Camaro is really pushing the bar high for the Corvette to stay at the top of the food chain... Gotta love it!

Just test drive both and decide ... the faster isn't always the more fun ... just let the vibe and your heart talk.

I think the 6th gen 1le looks great. I agree I'm not sold on that rear bumper of the new gen, but the spoiler the 17 1LE comes with helps a lot.
I would definitely wait to get the new 1le. 2018 would be the year to get one, let 2017 be the test year. 30/hp and 30lbs of extra torque plus almost 200 lbs lighter stock will give it great numbers. We 5th gens would need at least 50hp of mods to probably compete with the new guys.

I am not a fan of the 6th gen rear bumper detail, but the 17 1LE is going to be one sick car spec wise.

so finally we get some lap times to compare. with randy pobst behind the wheel in both cars, the 6th gen SS did 1:23.15 on the streets of willow. the 5th gen 1LE did 1:22.70. not too shabby for outgoing car.

Of course you can't add one to the Gen6. But the outgoing 1LE was quicker anyways, based on the previous posters reported MT times above, so I fail to understand your recommendation. |

I say life's too short. Buy the 5th gen 1LE now to enjoy and later buy the 6th gen around 2019.
