Northern California 1/4 mile thread, who, what, when, where, how...
Ok, some of us spend a lot of time over in the general racing, and 1/4 mile threads, even if its just lurking, like me.
I have been bitten by the bug. But, I've promised myself to stay within a reasonable budget. I want to get my car to run certain 1/4 mile times, with certain mods and budget, in stages. For example, my first time to the track, I ran a 13.121 at 105, with CAI, catback, diablo sport predator and stock tires. Now, I have recently installed Dynatech LT headers, ported throttle body, and a custom Jannety SCT tune. My goal is to run 12.4's. Then, later in the year, I want to add a stall, cam and heads, and hope to be in the 11's. and... maybe, just maybe, later, after that, there could be a little bottle in my trunk, hehe... So, WHO else in Nor-Cal is in to drag racing. WHAT do you have done to your car. WHEN are you going to the track? WHERE do you usually go? HOW have you come up to decide your mods were the best decisions, etc.. Lets make this fun, anyone can chime in, even if its just opinions. |

With Hennessey CAI, Resonator delete, stock tires, and 91 pump gas. I ran as fast as 13.109 @113(that could be wrong speed) I am still unpacking so I haven’t come across that slip yet but here are two others from that same night. It was the Chevy vs. Ford night at Sac raceway. As you can see my 60' times are shit. I like that the Infineon slip you have has the weather info on the slip; that would be very useful information.
I have now installed Magnaflow mufflers and new General tires, so I am interested to see what my times would be now. The butt Dyno says it has more power with the new mufflers. I also think I need a tune bad, but not sure which one I should go with or just spend the $500 and have Mark Roman tune it for me.

I am in to drag racing. Used to race my modified Grand Prix GTP a LOT. Been down the 1/4 more times than I can count.
Only taken the Camaro to the track once so far. My best time is in my sig and clearly, I need more practice driving the 6 speed I went to Infineon but I'm up for going to Sac at some point. Problem is, I live in San Jose so the tracks are a long drive for me.

I think we should all try to show up for this no matter if you run your car or not.
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=148117 I am trying to get the Camaro Generations club to show up for this too.

I go to Sacramento on Wednesday night's when I can.
I have LT's no cats,CAI and a JRE tune thru a predator (no tcm tune) and have gone 12.6x with a 1.98 60' but have had some low 1.8x 60'. I think it has a 12.4x in it with a 1.8x 60' I cant wait to get back to the track to try Gary I think that a 12.4 is doable in your car for sure let me know when you are going to the track again. |
