Maybe your car was delivered and Steve took it out for the weekend.

Steve can email me a spreadsheet (we agree on the time frames and details needed) and I will post it on a website. I setup a site and can PM the url to those that ordered from Basil.

And since you seem to be a dealer or salesman please set us straight on the markup if we are wrong. I would also like an honest answer for how many cars you have sold in the last say 3 months that were sold for MSRP or more. My guess is little to none.
My store does title and registration for any state. I have sold a few Cobalts at list but they only mark up about $600 too $700 with a $2500 rebate it is not hard to do.We have 34 Camaros all at msrp on order. I work near the border of NJ. I have PA people go to NJ to buy a car to save $500 only to find out they charge a $279 dealer fee and then when they get back they now have to get a PA State inspection. The Mark up on a Camaro is not worth all the effort. If someone would give you GMS it may make sense but it seems to be a lot of work to save a few hundred dollars. It seems to me it would make sense to forge a relationship with a local guy if you can.

GM Credit Union

Mac1 - Thanks for that information. Do you (or anyone) have any idea how much that discount is? I'm just trying to determine if it's worth the trouble. From other things I've read, it seems to be a significant discount. Can anyone shed any light? Thanks.

This is what I got out of it...if we sign up for that we would save the 500 over invoice and the advertising fee. So with the fact that GSU is slightly above invoice, my guess is we'd save about $1000. The problem is that I don't know how long that program runs or if Steve would be willing to accept it. Anyone with any other ideas are welcome...

Camaro Scotty made a post on the forum which enables you to attain an authorization number for a credit union discount. Search for that and get the authorization and take it from there. I really have no idea how much it is but anything off MSRP is all good.

That's the way I read it too. It smells a little fishy to me. Does that "advertising" fee get tacked onto MSRP as well? With car dealers, the invoice is never the true cost of the car. You have to wonder why the markup on a Camaro would be less than other vehicles. You'd think it would be more. Which leads me to believe that there are other "incentives" for the dealer, aka back door cash.

Just got off the phone with Steve a little while ago. As suspected, it is the CGM holding up my order. No biggie... I'm going to wait.

He also said by sometime in May, 23 of his 31 orders should have been "pulled". Dont quote those numbers because I did not write them down, but I'm pretty sure thats what he said.

I mentioned him posting here, he said at thier other dealership a guy was posting on a web forum in the past and that forum wanted a significant amount of money for him to post as a dealer. So, he would rather inform Trent and let him tell the masses...

It's all good, and for the doubters, I called Steve and got a prompt, honest and courteous response.

Trent, it's Monday, any news about Waldo?

Nope, not yet. I did send Steve an email this morning informing him of the name and telling him I expect him to call Dealer Business Services and get an answer. Haven't heard back from him yet but it may be he is trying to figure out a way to ask them, "Where's Waldo?" without pissing his pants when he does...
