Solo mach XL thoughts and concern
Ok so yesterday I installed my Solo Mach XL cat back.
Thoughts on it -quieter then expected -nice overall sound -install was easy -build quality is very good Concern -exhaust pipes hit the cross memeber when going over bumps. What can I do to fix this? |

I really like mine too, although it could be a little louder. I've heard it will gain a little volume as it breaks in. In reality, I think it is pretty loud from behind the car, it's just that the cabin blocks a lot of the sound inside.
I haven't noticed it bumping against anything. It's the same size pipe as stock, right? I've read that some brands with 3" pipes hit the tunnel brace.

I will double check everything today to make sure its all night and tight but i have not heard this noise before so its the only thing I can think of is it hitting the tunnel brace.

Could also be a heat shield.
If it is the tunnel brace, here are some possible solutions: 1. Get back under the car. Loosen all of the clamps. Have someone push up as hard as they can on the piping that is directly above the brace. Retighten while applying this upward force. You'll need to recenter your tips. (Also, make sure your mid piping isn't installed upside down). 2. Go to a hardware store and get some washers that will fit over the tunnel brace bolts. Lower the tunnel brace with these washers.

Didn't think about the heat shield.
I am 99% positive the mid pipe is install correctly. Pulled the stock exhaust straight out from under the car. noticed there was a bend in the mid pipe so I matched the bend before installing the solo mid |

I had same problem but all it took to fix was to loosen the exhaust clamps push the mid pipe away from cross member and re tighten. Also the sound will get louder over time.
