Here is my daughter with her 6 point this month. We live in florida so I know it's small to most people but we got about 53lbs. of meat off of him.

for steaks, I like to rub onion powder on them, wrap them in bacon, and cook it on the grill.
for roasts, I prefer using a slow cooker. throw some carrots, potatoes and a few cans of onion soup in there and cook it on low for 10-12 hours. another favorite is to use the stew meat chunks for venison pepper steak. use venison seasoning for meat. add some soy sauce and let it marinate while you cut up a red, yellow, and green pepper into strips. put olive oil in pan and get it nice and hot, add meat and onion, just brown it quick, add the peppers and fresh mushrooms and simmer on low until vegies are done. add a little corn starch the last couple of minutes. serve over rice.
