What do you think a Camaro would cost that can transform from a car to an autobot?

Well, if it costs 3 million to build the concept Camaro, and a TFormer is supposed to have over 10 thousand moving parts...I imagine it would be WELL over, like way, way, way over 3 million.

I was in Wal Mart today and saw they have a huge remote control Camaro Concept. Red and Silver. It's like 2 feet long or more and looked really good. I think it said it was from Jada and it did have the really large rims.

I might buy one for my nephew for Christmas and tell him he got my new Camaro before I did. heh $70 it was.

There's no way GM will be able to sell 100K of these a year at that price.

PRAY, PRAY, PRAY that this supposed price is for a base model "Bumblebee Special Edition Camaro" is just that....for a "limited production" edition. Man, does that scare me for GM....and for my chances of picking up a Camaro.
Why not, Dodge did with the SRT8's they were 43k

The Camaro ain't gonna start at $40,000. I haven't seen but one SRT8 out on the road.

Factor in the paint job (which we already know is expensive), plus all the extras we know will be in there. Add in the collectibility factor and sure, it would be at least 40k. The 40k number is only relevant in terms of taxes. So, anyone who wins this has to pay prize taxes on $40,000. I wouldn't look too much into this when it comes to the pricing of our own Camaros.

They are all over here, I see atleast 2 per day on my 60 mile round trip commute.
They are very popular in the Washington DC Metro Area. Mostly the 300C SRT8
and Charger SRT8 but I have seen Magnums as well.

I don't expect the Camaro to start at 40k but I would expect the Top Dog Camaro to be equal to the
38K there selling the Challanger SRT8 for. I think the Top 2010 GT Mustang will also be in the 35-38K Since the 2008 Fully loaded GT is now over 30K (Not including the Vert) but in 2010 there will be a new engine and a redesign so my numbers are not that far off. so yes it is very likely that the top models of all three cars will be close to 40K by 2010 easy.

The Base Price of the Mustang GT has gone up almost 3000 since I bought mine in 2005.
and the options have gone up in price over 25% since 2005.

I was not aware that the Mustang GT has gone up that much since 2005. If it was the Top Dog you meant than yeah I agree... closer to $40,000.

While I see your argument.. you also have to realize that inflation is up 25% since 2005. So for all intents and purposes, the mustang is still the same price. Its the dollar that has gone down in value.

One thing that will change is the corner of the paper that states "Trophy Case". "Best selling car in its class" I believe those days are coming to an end!

When I was 25, I was in a bad Motorcycle accident and I crushed my left knee, had torn Ligaments, Severed Nerves and a fractured hip. As I would love to have a manual Tranny, I can't push the clutch in without severe pain. so for some of us it's not an option.

But Don't worry, she still runs 12.8 seconds in the 1/4 in street trim with a couple of bolt-ons, stock tranny, stock motor. and my fat butt driving.

Ahh yes economics 101
but since 2005 Inflation has only risen 4.63%, yes the dollar has declined but that does not affect domestic goods.

We better hope so, I want to see the Camaro live another 30 years, I would hate to see it go the way of the GTO. For now I will have a Mustang and a Camaro in my garage, I love both these cars, I never liked the whole Branding thing in my opinion a stupid, I buy what I like not because it's a chevy or ford, who cares. but that me.

Also think about this:

Bumblebee isn't a 6 cylinder -- so we know the winner will be getting a WELL equipped car -- and the color -- they will have to be specially painted.

Anyone price out a 'custom' paint job lately with 'trick' paint? (Bumblebee doesn't have a 'regular' paint job!)

so......calm down -- spread the word. The new Camaro WILL be very very affordable.
I seem to remember hearing somewhere -- on this board in fact - that the bumblebee paint job was rumored to cost around 10k. if the cost of paint is 10k -- and 40k is the estimated value of bumblebee, that puts the Z28 Camaro (if there will be a Z28) at around 30k with V8 Engine. (probably auto tranny too).

sound better?

It doesn't take much for a paint job to easily run into the several-thousands. I worked at a bodyshop for several years and many people are suprised by how much it costs to paint a complete car correctly.
