The way I see it you really have to be sold on the HIDs AND the Wheels for it to be worth it. Since I prefer the polished wheels I'll probably order mine with that and add the RS taillamps later. However, if they decide to allow polished wheels on the RS, I'll go for it.

For me, the RS package is not only about the HIDs, but the halos. You do not get them if you do not order the RS package, and they look friggin kick a$$.

I just based my price of the HID's loosely off the cost it is for the Challenger on Dodge website and added 50 bucks cause the Camaro ones look so much cooler, lol. I'm sure that they will be WAY cheaper in aftermarket. But I don't want to deal with the hastle.
Thanks for the info JMAN311. After seeing the pics I actually like the Polished Alluminum better. This leaves me with only the HALO HID's as the only thing I really want but I'm not paying 1k for em though :(

Also, people are mentioning the tail lights... I thought the RS ones were just a tad darker? Does anyone have a side by side of those too?

Unless you order a black Camaro, do not underestimate the huge difference body colored roof ditch moldings will make to the looks of the car. And the ballasts supplied with aftermarket HID conversion kits are usually cheap junk compared with the factory ballasts. (Unless its a $1000 or more aftermarket HID kit, and then what's the point?) And the halos and afterburner taillights add the cool factor.

lots of people are missing the roof ditch molding, and i was called crazy when i tried to tell people what it was. Ohhh no your wrong that isnt suppse to be that color, they messed up those are just renders of the car. When infact i saw the yellow and red cars at indy. if you can afford it get the RS it may be a litttle bit more money but you will enjoy the extra look it gives the car.

No problem, and here are a couple shots from Tantalizer43's Indy pics. The silver SS doesn't have the RS package and the Yellow V6 has the RS package....not a huge difference just darkened out lower portion of the bezel. Haven't found a good comparison with them lit up yet.

I am with the "why add the RS package to an 2SS". group The Halos do look sweet (when standing still), and my understanding from the appearance in RS photos (which are ~95% of photos I see anywhere) the rear tail lights may (?) have a chrome border (if so, nice).

I have ordered a Victory Red 2SS, with AUTO, Sunroof, and Polished Wheels. Not sure body color roof ditch molding will make a HUGE difference to me ('free' roof racing stripes?) except perhaps to the CHP (California Highway Patrol) Helicopter as he radioes in the "get that red car - with black ditch molding - racing 200 MPH up I-5" to the ground troops...I wouldn't want the poor red Dodge Challenger to get pulled over instead just because he was BEHIND ME...ha!

Elsewhere, I have read "you get SS embroidered on your seats if you order the RS package"...seems to me if any SS embroidery is going to happen, it would be for anyone with an SS.

Bottom line for me, if I can't see a big difference side-by-side for a $1,200 investment, it's hard to get me to add that to the bottom line price. I appreciate all the feedback I have read and look forward to being convinced to upgrade.

I'll just say: LOOK at this!

If you say - so what? You don't want the RS. If you think holy xxxx! You want SS/RS.

$750 for HID's
$300 for wheels
$150 taillamps
Dude...could not have said it better myself!
