Adams Liquid Paint Sealant question

So my car was detailed today, clayed, 1-step polish, and sealed with the Adams. (not by me)

If I wax lets say in a week, in 2 or 3 months, can I use sealant again without stripping the wax?

Whats is the best way to use/do both, wax and sealant?

Thanks all.

Jim

You don't ever put sealant on top of wax. Once you apply wax, you don't do sealant again until you strip and start over.

That answered it, so I have to strip the wax before resealing. That is what I figured.

Have you tried the Adams Liquid Sealant? If so, your thoughts. The guy was gonna use Klasse, but used the Adams for some reason.

I like the Adams sealant, but I think only because I haven't tried the blackfire yet. Adams is user friendly, but I probably need to reapply every 2-3 months. I'm fine with that, because I enjoy the process, but I know a lot of people prefer some more longevity

to further question sealant use/methods....

So I can apply sealant over sealant, can I mix brands? What kind of detail spray can I use if I do not want to strip again before adding more sealant? Something like CG V7? It is the only one that comes to mind that is supposedly a sealant detailer that I assume is wax free.

Thanks for everyones help.

Jim

Yes sealants can be layered, waxes cannot. You can try to mix brands, although I haven't done it and certain brands may react different ways with one another.

Any detail spray will do. CG V7 is a dual purpose detail spray and spray sealant. Any other normal detail spray such as UWW+, ONR, Adam's, etc. will work also and won't strip any sealant.

Thanks JTruck, I am not worried about the detail spray stripping the sealant, I am concerned about using something that will prevent me from adding a "real" sealant to the coat that was just applied, in the near future. I assume that if I use a spray WAX detailer, that I would have to strip it all again, before doing a sealant, but hoping if I use something like the V7, that I can use a sealant OVER top of it and have it actually "stick".

Does that make sense?

Thanks,

Jim

I understand now.

Detail sprays such as ONR and UWW+ do not contain wax, that I know of at least. Sprays like Adam's do. Although I wouldn't think too much of the small amount of wax compound in the detail spray affecting another layer of a sealant.
