Anybody cross-shopping the new Taurus SHO?
I have not seen the car in person but the specs are killer.

With a Camaro?????? Are you kidding?
Driven the Lincoln..................if you want a car that can handle................this isn't it. And I have a hard time imagining the Ford SHO will handle any better. Blech!!!!!!!

One word, NO! If I wanted a 4 door I would get a G8 before they are gone, I think it's a beautiful car. SHO is not bad but that's all wheel drive turbo V6 four door compared to a real wheel drive V8 coupe.

This is like asking "Should I buy an RV or a Lamborghini for a daily driver?"
Come on man! Think!

Not to mention and I quote: "The 2010 Ford Taurus SHO will start at $37,995 when it goes on sale this summer. " And it weighs 4368 pounds. If your a ford fan it's a nice 4 door that might be fan to drive if your a car fan it just doesn't offer very much. I'm finding it hard to find the "killer specs" no offense.

Should run mid 13's@103-104. The AWD will make it better in snow over the Camaro "if" you drive it year round.
Not really comparable though, 4 door sedan vs 2 door coupe. SHO more expensive too. I would take my chances in winter and buy the cheaper, better looking, better performing Camaro.

No comparison...to cross shop based on performance you would have to look at the V6 Camaro and then the price difference is too much to make it a comparison at all.
Two totally different cars...honestly I don't see them selling well at all.... the slogan is a joke... "performance of a V8, thirst of a V6".... from what I can tell its not getting v6 MPG at all... talk about marketing. SHO - 17 MPG city/25 MPG hwy V6 Camaro - 17 MPG city/29 MPG hwy v8 Camaro - 16 MPG city/24 MPG hwy |

UMMM NO!!
One of the car mags just came out with an article on it ( I get Motortrend, Road&Track, and Car and Driver every month ) but of course I can't remember which one at the moment, and I really tried to read it... but the car is really just so .... BLAH.... that I couldn't stand it. The article was raving about how great the car was, but all I wanted to do was bash my head in with a rock just from reading the article !!!! I really want our American auto industry to kick it into high gear and save it's self, but that car is not going to do it ! HA !

365 hp and 350 lb/ft of torque. All-wheel drive so you can drive the car safely year-round. A real back seat so you can go out to dinner with adult friends. A functional trunk with plenty of space. Every high-tech electronic feature under the sun. Built in America (Chicago) by US autoworkers.
Makes a lot of sense for car enthusiasts with families who need a year-round do-it-all vehicle and prefer to buy American. |
