They are Vinyl, and can definitely be removed.

the glossy ones (orange) are vinyl as well?
can anyone walk me through the process of completely removing the orange and then applying the black?

I can do it myself right?

Yes. This can be done on your own.

The factory stripe kit from the dealer is about 400 bucks.

There are several DIY videos on YouTube which show you the entire process, including installation.

I would spend the money to have it professionally done. It's not as easy as it looks.

Find a good vinyl shop in your area. You should look at getting the extended stripes as well. They look alot better and will set you even farther apart from your friend.

I got a complete set of extend and customized stripes installed for $450 out the door. I also have my stripes go over the top of the rear spoiler as well. Looks much better IMO. You can acually see the stripes from behind.

My friend just got rid of his. No residue or sticky stuff left on the hood or deck lid. I think he used a hair dryer and heated them off. No hassel at all.

I think the IOM stripe on white is an awesome retro look, but to each his own.

I agree....I like Orange/White.

Like I mentioned above, maybe what you should do is remove the stock stripes and have some custom extended stripes added. Make them wider than stock and go all the way to the front of the car and over the rear spoiler.

Keep the color....just change the style. Especially if you have the Orange interior.

Yes they are removable; I will have mine removed in December and have them painted on to get away from the wax issue since they are not wax friendly...

They are adams VRT friendly. I hear turtle wax black ice is good too. I just avoid waxing them and instead VRT them occasionally after having learned my lesson and left nasty wax streaks of course

Getting them off is not so tuff, but if you've never done it before you best have it done.

The flat black one are not wax friendly but all the others colors are. They are vinyl. Just be carefully with the buffer near the edges, or just do the stripes by hand if you are not experienced with the buffer.
