Completely De-badged 1LE
I have learned a ton from searching through this forum and wanted to finally contribute something. It's pretty easy to find pictures of side/rear badges removed and "flow ties" on the front but I have seen very few pictures of front bowtie removed. Here are a couple pics of an after-market upper grille that does not have a bowtie at all, in case someone else is ever curious. I'll also include another shot, just so you have a couple angles in one place.

Looks good. Recent thread discussing the availability of the smoked lamps, it appears GM has pulled the part number for the L/R set sold on the aftermarket but are still available individually. They look nice on darker colors and white although the red ties in with the red calipers, I switch back and forth a few times a year. [IMG][/IMG]

Why would you want to remove all badges?

I didn't try hard enough on the front so I just plastiDip blacked the bowtie and left the SS in place, pulled the rest of it sides and rear...i've debadged every car the last 20 years except those that have mounting holes in the panels (Mustang...GRRRR)

I removed the ZL1 badges from the rear and hood of my car. I left the bowtie badges on the rear and front grill. I refuse to advertise for a manufacturer unless they pay me. It makes it much easier to wash and polish.

Well, the bowties are much more of an advertisement than those cryptic ZL1 trim badges... everyone knows the bowtie, but maybe 5% of drivers know what a ZL1 is.

I did the third, huge improvement, the tails are still sitting in boxes in the garage. Don't mind the tails that much, might eventually swap them out, but the red third brake light had to go, looked so out of place.

Bought the car used a couple of years ago and it had a matte black front bowtie/none on the rear. It struck me as unbalanced so I bought an OEM bowtie and color-matched it to the front. Stuck in on with low-adhesive tape (pictured) and didn't like the look...I guess I got used to the clean back end. I wanted it evened out so I went the other way (i.e. remove all as stated in OP).
I do really like the car in black but you can't get the same cool two-tone effect with black as you do on other colors. (Like it on yours though Warrior, looks mean). ...Just fun to tinker around so maybe I'll put some of those 1LE badges on it at some point. |

Blue - I'll keep them in case I want to reverse the changes or provide them to a purchaser of the car (not that I have any intention of doing either right now).
...I like that mug btw |
