I would say your going to need a new power adder and a new shortblock at minimum. Even if you overcome the weight disadvantage with power its going to be hard to put it down the way a AWD car can. My vote would be a large centri blower or turbo, minimum 3600 stall, minimum forged 416"ci. RHS 427 with some all pro LS7 heads would be better though and some suspension and drivetrain that will handle minimum 1.4 60'. I think that would do it. Sounds expensive though. I wouldnt wast my money upgrading the Maggie either. By the time you add up all the upgrades to make the TVS 2300 do 900RWHP you could of bought that centri or turbo setup I was talking about.

What did that Evo mph? Didn't really look that fast.
I'm pretty sure your fuel system won't support a 150 shot. Ted already has doubts that mine will. |

Run some drag radials on your stock wheels and you could probably CLEAN up street racing that thing...assuming it weren't illegal and dangerous and all that stuff.

If you can get your car low 9 sec capable you will match well with him. Evo's can be difficult to get into the 8's, but can run 9's very easy. He's probably boosting in the 35-40psi range.
I couldn't find any recent threads on this car. I guess he had sold it? My dad has a Camaro and I have an Evo, so I try and frequent both forums. You definitely have your work cut out for you, good luck! If you do end up doing some higher speed airport runs, you should pull him up top, Evo's don't have a ton of top end, it's a fast car but is still a 4 door econobox when it comes to aerodynamics. |

A stock engine/head can hold around 28psi on pump and around 32-33psi on meth/race gas/e85. They're just built to handle it. It's extremely different from that much boost on a v8. Little engine big boost and vice versa.

Gettin schooled by a turbo? How do you beat him?
Get older F-Body and change induction device to TURBO. There's a lot of 4th Gen Turbos running low 9's and 8's..... BTW that is Farkin Fast. They learned a while back...dump the SC go Turbo. Its for sale..... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ponti...ht_1478wt_1057 You can find em all the time at LS1Tech. |
