I said this before, but IMO this is one of the disadvantages of Chevy naming this camaro as ZL1. The legend of the original ZL1 was synonymous with the 427 cu. inch engine, so anything that's labelled as ZL1 will naturally have onlookers expecting a 427 cubic inch engine.

Chevy has done wonders in re-creating the camaro and the ZL1, and rightfully in one aspect that the top performing camaro should be labeled as ZL1. The problem is that when you compromise on certain fundamental aspects of something, down the line the compromise will cause some confusion or misconception. I have gotten over the name change (obviously), but then again I still have my reservations with the labeling of both the ZL and the Z/28.

Very talented bracket racers with full race cars and $100K rigs...

It boggles my mind when I know more about my car and theirs then they do.

I feel you guys pain, I have a CTS V and everybody asks "is that the one with the corvette engine" and worse, when I'm in my SRT-10 Ram they ask "is that a Hemi?"

I don't get why either.

People are so stuck on the size of motors and the number of cylinders.

That is largely irrelevant in 2015.

Its the power being put to the ground that matters and the ZL1 is king of the 5th gens in that department.
Well it's people, can't kill em, can't live without em.

AMEN to the ZL1 being King!!!!

Till that ultra modded SS pulls up next to you with a ZL1 front bumper lmao.

I followed your build on VTCOA.

You still have your SRT10? I sold mine years ago.

My favorite is when I knock out a 10 second pass and I have no back seat and a roll cage and then someone comes and asks me if mine is still stock. I usually just say I've made a couple of upgrades. I do get the corvette engine question from time to time, that one always makes me smile.

I always answer that question with "yes, it is stock"...

If they can't see obvious upgrades then thats their problem.
