I know. Here everyone else is asking and posting great questions/answers about your install but not me, I notice a little boys foot. Aww well I thought it was too cute. Besides I think its wonderful that they are right there with you watching and learning.

Nickey Chicago has Hurst short throw shifters in Stock and ready for delivery, for those who want the Hurst Brand name and quality.

We have not used the Barton short throw as of yet, but based on our experience with Barton, it should be as good or better than the Hurst Shifter.

Until they take silver sharpie to your beautiful black leather!!!

And when that happens, you can't get mad. You just have to that you left the sharpie in your car and try to teach the little one that what he did was NOT ****'ING RIGHT!!! ...in a very calm fashion.

Thank the good Lord above for Mr. Clean Magic Eraser!!!

And less expensive. Personally, I'd LOVE to test one of the Barton's out. I already had the Hurst on order (as I've used them for 8 years) when the Bartons came out. Yep...would love to see how they work and feel compared to the Hurst.

The plate is part of the Hurst shifter, you do not reuse the stock plate..

that sux, took only 10 minutes to change mine out, it took longer to jack the car up and support it. can you post pics of the faulty shifter plate?

Nice DIY, thank you.

Man I HATED those two counter sunk screws to mount the new shifter.

I put mine in last April . Pretty easy install, except for those damn V6 springs ! If i were to do it again,I would slice the inner boot enough to unbolt the springs. Then they just fall out.I am lucky,I used a lift @ work. I would hate to do it on my back. I just need to order the correct V6 shift pattern knob.
