Got a great deal on a new truck!! Arriving tomorrow.

I heard about the $5K cash back offer on the new extended/crew cabs that GM was offering for the month of June.

While there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with our current ext. cab truck, I couldn't resist the temptation just to see. It's NEVER had warranty work done on it. I've kept it clean, zaino'ed, and kept up with the recommended maintenance and use synthetic oil and trans fluid. It is a 2006, and coupled with the fact that we're looking at retirement in about 5 years or so (fingers crossed), the stars were aligned to make a deal.

Problem is, new truck inventories are purposely low this year, and pickings are slim. Unless you want white or silver.

So, with nothing to lose, I washed down the ol' truck and took it in to get it appraised. If a trade happens, it happens. If not, I'm still left with a great truck.

I figure it's in real nice shape for what it is as I take good care of it, so I expected high kelly blue book trade in value for this area, (Excellent- $12,075). The dealership was extremely impressed to its overall cleanliness and relatively low miles.

A pic I took just today:

They offered us 1200 above top blue book trade in (periodic detailing does pay off)!!! That put the cost of buying the truck for the last 4.5 years at right around 169 bucks per month from the original purchase price. Couldn't even lease one for that.

They didn't have the exact truck in stock that suited us, but was willing to trade for one at another dealership a good ways away.

The rundown...

(stock file photo, but ours will look ALMOST exactly like this one)

2010 GMC Sierra SLE 2WD Crew Cab, short box.
-Fire Red exterior with Titanium (gray) two-tone cloth interior
-Power Pack Plus (315 HP 5.3, 6 speed auto, tow package, etc.)
-Convenience package (blue tooth, homelink, adjustable pedals, backup assist, rear defog, etc.)
-SLE-2 package (dual comfortzone A/C, EZlift gate, steery wheel controls, etc.)
-3.42 rear gears (no charge)

MSRP $35,965.00
GM Employee discount price: $33,887.73
GM EVA additional discount: $1,500.00
Cash Rebate: $5,000.00
Total price out the door with tax, paperwork, and trade-in:
$14,537.73 with 3.94% dealer financing up to 63 months! (but it will likely only be a 4 year loan)

It’s really great to have a good truck, they are highly desirable vehicles that can be used for a number of business purposes. Owning a truck is opening all sorts of transactions for you. A truck can be used to transport different types of goods and for personal use too, thanks to truck finance companies, they have made buying truck much easier.
