I think you hit the " nail on the head". I remember that also. Can't wait to see what is revealed.

There was a video posted somewhere on thesse boards where Bob Lutz (Big wig for GM) said the LS2 is outdated. It's been retired and that's why the LS3 went into the corvette. Also they introduced the Gen V engines with Direct Injection so those have also been rumored to be going into the new camaro. Either way both are an uprade compared to the LS2 and that's why it won't be an option.

^Thank you.
Scott Settlemire told us we did not want to miss November (nothing about Nov 1st specifically). But, I would imagine it would be towards the beginning of the month too. He also told us the LS2 was out the door. 3Whiterag also told us it was gone (works w/ GM Powertrain). The Gen V engines are something to be raving about. These will be the engines that put all others to shame. High HP, high rev, and more fuel efficient. I can't wait to see what's offered up! |

Well I guess I'll just have a tab always open to Chevy Nation, and beginning Nov 1st, I'll refresh it every few seconds until that update comes out, even if it takes all month darn it.

I just hope the info released is worth while and they don't go back releasing any previously known info. Like, I hope they don't put up "The LS2 engine was the original engine, bla, bla, bla. Now that it is gone, Chevy is looking to put in a new engine which will be announced in the near future." Hopefully, they put out some worthwhile info....stuff we didn't already know.

Chevy.com/cruise states that The new Camaro will have a "choice of either a small block V8 or V6 engine"
Not sure if it was ever confirmed anywhere else that it would be a small block or not, but I added it to the list. I also figured it would be good to specify that it will be rear wheel drive. I'm sure most of us take that as a given, but someone may come across the list who isn't sure. |

I'm not sure which engine will be used. But one thing is for sure if you are looking for an engine with horsepower, it will need to be within the new proposed CAFE regulations. Corvette is one car, but add a high powered Camaro and that may affect the whole average. Unlike the PT cruiser that they classified as a truck to help the over all average, there is no way they can pass a Camaro as a truck. EEWWW that's sick.
