Bummer.
Yes, they may crack. It's regularly in the -Fs here in the winter, fine for the car, not for summer tires.

I drove on the SC3s from my hotel to VIR early in the morning last year with an overnight low in the high 20s and found no cracking after I arrived and had no issues with the tires for their entire life. I would not recommend it or do it often though. Traction is greatly reduced when it is that cold outside...they are summer tires.

The dealer delivered mine back in January when it was 25 degrees out without any issue. The sales guy said he had to baby it to avoid any issue. That said, I wouldn't recommend it. I've since got a 2nd set of wheels with DWS 06 all season tires and am keeping the SC3s for track use.

The limit of irreversible damage is probably near 20 °F. Using these tires around those temps is risky business.

Thanks for the info all. I think I'm just going to go ahead and put some Michelin Pilot 4 All Season on the Camaro this week and sell the Goodyears. I'd rather just put some all-season tires on there and not have to worry about it.

These are excellent tires. I have a set of these on my 2011 Corvette Grand Sport. Been driving in cold and freezing temps and these tires stick.

Sell the Goodyear SC3s if you're not planning to do any track days or consider keeping them to re-mount later for track days (or buy a second set of wheels so you have one for the all seasons and one for the track tires).

With the RIGHT tires... you can go anywhere that has paved roads.

No donuts where harmed in this photo.

I've tracked my car under 32 F, and have had no issues. Having said that, driving on the road at 10 degrees seems like you'll be pushing it. I don't think it will destroy your tires but your grip will be bad.

I'm in Lawrenceville and wanted to tell you that the Discount Tire over by Bass Pro Shops in Lawrenceville has a touchless machine. I purchased some all weathers and had them mounted. I then purchased another set SS 1LE wheels that had PS4S tires and sold my SC3s. I alternate those from winter and summer. You can get a TPMS reset tool on Amazon for around $9.95 and it all works out for me. Please don't drive the SC3s to AL.

Don’t do it. Even when it’s bone dry in weather below 40F you’ll spin with just a bit of throttle. If you plan to run the car in winter conditions switch tires.

Driving on those summer tires in the cold is like driving on ice. When I had my 1LE I took it to work one day. It was about 40 F and it was sooooo sketchy any time I had to make a turn. I ordered all-seasons later that day had discount-tire swap them out and sold the Goodyears.

That's one reason I keep buying the PS4S. It's a jack of all trades that is very close to being a master of them all, works fine down to 35-36 degrees (no skating on ice feeling whatsoever, provided one uses the go pedal sensibly) and has outstanding dry and wet grip in normal temperatures.
