Thanks! Really appreciate it.

I'm probably going to work on the install this weekend. Definitely want to hook it into the ABL wiring - sounds like its the easiest, and fortunately - what i want.

So summing up the posts above, I'm going to start on the passenger side:
-T-tap into the purple wire (it looks like in the picture its the thinner purple wire) and connect the red wire from the foot lights

-T-tap into any black wire in that same harness (looks again like the same thin size as the purple) and connect the black wire from the foot lights.

im pretty sure thats what everyone's been confirming to me is correct.

I too am ignorant. I just want to be able to connect my SMD light strips so I can switch them on and off whenever I want to.
PLEASE POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION!
Thank you in advance.

Thanks for that!
So since I have two light strips, does that mean I cn just conect both wires (from each strip) to the same connection?

It would be great if the lights came with a direct connection to something with a simple splitter.

Thanks, TonyNo! I did mine this weekend and it went very smoothly thanks to your instructions. I definitely wouldn't have tried this without them.

So if my goal is to just be able to switch my lights on and off anytime, does it really matter what wire I tap into if all I want/need is a power source??
To me it seems like it wouldn't matter.

Well, I hooked mine up. Used the grey wire (position 1) from the pink connector as my power source and connected them to the switch that came with the AAC lighting strips. They were not very bright, barely visible, and would dim and brighten depending on how I moved the wire.
SO WHAT DID I DO WRONG??? Needless to say, I gave up.
If there's more advice, it would be nice. If not, its ok, I can leave it as is.
Thanks.

What did you buy from AAC? Am I correct to assume that you have CCFL's? If so, it won't work on the ABL circuit, which should only be LED's and series resistors.

They're the SMB lighting strips.

I think you are combining info from separate posts.

I started this thread for lighting tied into the dome circuit, which is the grey wire on the grey connector at the BCM.

Other people have mentioned a purple wire behind the kick-panel.

I don't think I have seen anyone mention a grey wire on the pink connector of the BCM.
