Cheaper to get ground effects after?
Is it going to be cheaper to buy the ground efffects kit and install seperately away form my local dealership, i know this was the case with my civic i could of saved quite a bit by ordering my honda hfp kit seperate from my dealer and having someone else install. I do want the chevy ground effects and not aftermarket I like to stay original manufacture stuff if possible.

Ground Effects, Side
*Coming Soon* Your Price $1,950.00 With Installation $2,229.00 I found this in that link on the front page for accessories, seems awfully expensive for just the sides maybe buying the whole kit up fornt is going to be cheaper. Isn't the kit just over 2k right now. |

I would just get it as the LPO option, and then you can finance it with the car...

well I'm not financing so thats my dillema, another 2k out of pocket or not. I'm gonna hold off for now I think I got plenty of time to decide. I added them to my civic so I could have one price to pay and Honda marks there's up a lot. I could of got the same kit online from a diff out if state Honda dealer and saved hundreds.

I like the LPO versions, but the square exhaust ports look goofy with a round pipe... Or am I confused about what the rear looks like? I'm sure aftermarket will have tons of options an more than likely cheaper, but then you ahve to get them painted, so that could end up being a wash or more expensive.

The ground effects package sold in the pre-order comes with both the sides and rear pieces, correct?

The way to go with ground effects are the factory ones if they have the look that you like. Aftermarket kits dont fit very good and require quite a bit of body work to make them fit right. So you have to weigh the options, #1: get the factory ones for 2k installed with the car and have them under warranty if the dealer paints them, #2: get some aftermarket kit for $1200, give your car to a body show for about a week or two and let them charge you another $1000 for paint and body. If you get it LP it comes with the front lip, the sides, and the rear. Factory is the way to go with ground effects in my opinion.

I think you guys kinda missed my point was looking to see if anyone had any info on buying the gm ground effects after receiving your car. The example I use with my civic parts and install is close to 1300+ for the front rear and side, i can buy the same kit orig. honda kit from an out of state honda dealer for 950, and have a buddy install for next to nothing. The 1300+ is on civic builder I think my dealership was even more. So what i'm trying to find out is will the current gm body kit for camaros be offered and for what price and I can purchase them either locally or other and then get somebody else to put them on. Don't care about painting probably leave them alone. I wouldn't buy aftermarket period if I got a kit it would be gm. But dealers mark the parts and the labor up a bunch, just the like the 21 inch wheels those aren't 4k worth of wheels, honda did same thing to me my wheel upgrade was 2k or more and could of got same rims and tires for cheaper as well. Its probably too early since all options gm or otherwise haven't even come out yet.

i'd say wait til the cars have been out a little while, then order them as 'replacements' through the parts counter
