Thanks for the clarification, John! The one person that I know personally who had this happen to his car stated that his was only held on with the tape - looks like the dealership failed to follow the instructions.

Does anyone have a scanned copy of the instruction packet? The guy that I know whose ground effects ripped off said that the dealer did not rivet the ground effects down at all... just tape and two clips. I guess the dealership wants him to buy a new GFX piece and they want to prove to the dealership that it was installed wrong.

John - do you by chance know anything about the "new GFX design" that I'm hearing about? Just curious because it seems like the guy I know from my website (he might have registered on here) is having a really big hassle trying to get the dealership to repair the ground effect piece.. they want him to buy a new one for $650. :(

Aren't all GMPP items included under warranty if the dealer installs them??

The problem lies with the whole nose part is just stuck on with 3M tape and it doesn't handle the air pressure of sustained highway speeds.

I'm Here!!!

This thread has been very informational. Sounds like I need a blue dot. Haha. Check out my thread "Front Ground Effects Lip Problem"

Thanks Johnny. These instructions are very helpful. Looks like pages 12 and 14 are the solution to this issue. It involve installing rivets into the front section of the fascia and into the back portion of the front lip. This will hold the front of the splitter in place, unless the rivets were installed on mtcwby's car as well and the reamaing forward portion was what was being pushed down by the air pressure.

I did a post last weekend stating that my dealer said that something was going on with the ground effects!! I didn't put it on my order because it would have slowed down my delivery time. Now folks see what I was talking about.

My dealer has a car in that was ordered with ground effects package, the ground effects are still on recall now there is problem with rear melting at exhaust tips. Car is invoiced with ground effects, so can not be deleted, would have to be installed later, but paid for now at delivery.

melting.....is this a fact or you just trying to incite something? I haven't read any official recall on this...I even talked to a couple of dealers about it and they said the same thing...NO RECALL! Dealers admitted they are being made aware to follow the correct GFX installation process. Maybe I am just behind on the GFX news.
