I'm wondering if this anomaly only happens when wheel spin is detected, however that can't be it since I'm pretty sure Evil_V did not spin when using slicks. Why limit this car yet allow the Z06 free will? Smh. How will this affect the manual cars?

So, am I understanding this correctly..even with better prepared track and/or drag radials an auto ZL1 can't go faster than 1.7 in the 60' and correspondingly about 11.5 in the 1/4? I was really holding out for a faster than Hellcat car....

Well that's disappointing if it's accurate. I honestly did not expect it to best the Hellcat in the 1/4 with both cars on drag radials and at their peak but I thought it would be at least a 10.9 car. Subscribed for any updates.

Dave its basically an algorithm in the tune. Pedal calls for X amount of tq when depressed cross-referenced with speed and RPM = output, a given cell on a chart (simplified). GM didn't want us going around breaking parts and hurting their bottom line.

It sounds like the simplest way to get around the problem is also the simplest way to void your warranty should something happen. That really sucks but I'm sure many folks will want to tune it out.

Man this starting to worry me. I plan on modding and tuning after break in, but I truly hope this is not another 2016 CTS V. I love the car, but even modded it's a dog at the track.

If the car is being limited by some sort of torque management in the first couple of gears and you are planning to tune it, shouldn't you be able to remove the torque management?

It should not be a problem and that's my plan. I'm just worried about what the car has the potnential to run with mods. If you go to YouTube and watch Modded 2016 CTS Vs, they really are not that impressive at all.

WOW...I had no idea this was an issue with the new CTS V either...the MPH is there but 10.66...and with that laundry list of mods...yikes. Did not look like he was spinning at all either. If this is the deal with the ZL1 that really really sucks.

On the one hand it will certainly help the car on the street and on the stock rubber and it will do what GM advertised..but still disappointing. Maybe that is why they advertised the 1/4mile times on unprepared surface. Seemed like they were alluding to the fact that it would do better though. Kinda wish they'd have been more up front about that. Glad I waited.
