0-60 and Quarter Miles WILL Get Better

One thing I do know is that these cars doing test runs on are not broken in yet. Think about it, we get EPA #'s when they put around 1000 miles on the engine. 0-60 and quarter times are being run with less than that.

As engine and other parts of the drive train break in the car will get quicker. And gas milage will improve a little bit. Performance and milage will pick up around 5000 miles. We could see 4.5 0-60 by then and your quarter miles will be quicker.

I believe I am right on this.

Motortrend published something about taking a tenth or two off in warmer weather, and they got 4.6's didn't they?
I definitely expect to see some 4.5's down the rode

Same should go for the Chally and Mustang. Anyone know of a Challenger clocked after 5000? Surely someone has done it?

Of course they probably would have moded of by then.

I think the times would almost have to improve. My Son's 05 Mustang GT has Nitto Extreme tires which stick great in warm weather, but I can tell you from experience it is dangrous when it is that cold outside and you try to do a hard start. The stock Camaro tires must be better than the Nitto Extremes to get the times they got in that cold of weather because I am sure it cuts off at least .5 seconds on the Mustang GT with the Nitto Extremes. We will find out for sure pretty soon.

I agree, drag radials are horrible in the winter/cold.

by the time more and more people get their cars, it will be summer. Times are likely to go up. I don't expect great times until next winter.

As for mileage, those cars they tested are probably already broken in.

PM trapped 111.43 mph. This car will definitely go faster.

I know they'll go faster because Edmunds ran the same times as the other rags, and I've NEVER had a car where I couldn't out run the Edmunds drivers.

A warm tire does little with a cold, un-prepped track
