Big fuel leak!

I have been driving my car the past couple weeks despite the broken #5 piston top ringland. it has been fine as long as i stay out of big boost.

I noticed this past friday a bad smell of gas. I finished the drive home from work and in the garage i observed a large fuel leak from the passenger side of the fuel tank in front of the pass side rear tire. Probably a pint per 5 minutes with the fuel pump energized. After shutting the power off the leak subsided to zero after 3 minutes or so.

Put it on jack stands today to investigate further....as soon as the pump is energized with the key, not even started the motor, same result....coming from the top of the tank where the LPE dual pump setup was installed. Cant see exactly since i dont want to drop the rear cradle/tank since my new motor goes in in a month or so. Also adding a Stealth eliminator return system at that time so why bother.

But i am curious as to what may be the problem.....O ring between LPE setup and tank, broke vent tube? No leaks at all with the pump not powered.

You will definitely have to drop the tank to find he culprit but it could be several things but you definitely do not need to drive it or even power the pump up unless you have really good insurance coverage. Hopefully you can be patient enough to wait to get your new install as this is a very dangerous issue.

Yea, im done with driving it. HKE is machining my block this week which means the motor is finally going together. Just need to start it to get it on the trailer when its time.

Had the same problem.
Removed the stock tank and installed a custom 10 gal tank in the trunk.
Where the battery is I had a custom tank installed in the shape of the tire well. Also have a meth tank installed in there.
Car is in the shop getting the gforce rear put in at the same time.
I will have pics and video in about a week or so.
