My 8.6" Metco ring showed up last night. So first thing this morning I put it, grabbed my laptop with HP Tuners on it and went for a drive. Below is the rpm, mph and "Delivered engine torque" from the HP Tuners scan. For the record, I don't contend that my car is making these torque numbers, but for compairson purposes, it is apples to apples for my car.

With 8.6" pulley Best numbers stock
RPM TQ MPH RPM TQ MPH Gain
4829 565 59 4823 524 59 41 rwtq
5288 565 65 5232 509 64 54 rwtq
4850 575 81 4852 506 81 69 rwtq
5510 547 92 5508 487 93 60 rwtq
6018 520 101 6022 455 101 65 rwtq

I only saw knock on two of the six runs I made this morning. Nothing more than when stock. I'll be taking it to the dyno next week to get some numbers and check the A/F ratio.

Big thanks to JRE!!!!

Forgot to add that peak torque was 524 stock. And 578 with new pulley ring.

Just ordered my CAI and pulley. Also ordered Torco octane booster as recommended by Jannetty. I always use 93 octane, they recommend 97 octane on track days but I will probably use it all the time. Never know when you have to get to the track.

Ted, do you recommend waiting until the 1500 mile break in period is over to install the Balancer/Pulley or can it be installed at any time?

Hey all, long time no see! I sold my TT 2010 SS in favor of a 2009 cts-v (with 10 months of driving a minivan in between). Quick questions: what's the install time look like for a moderate garage wrencher on the 9.1" pulley? Seems like JRE has a great price on this too-- looks to be around $75-$150 lower than all the cts-v forum vendors.

So you can really run this thing at 10.5psi with NO tune?? Forgive me for being skeptical! Ted knows his crap though... Fact.

Pulley install took about 4 hours. Fyi, the 10% pulley is the 8.6. Not the 9.1. I was sceptical also, but looking at my HP Tuners scans it seems plausible.

It can be installed any time but it might be harder to wait out the 1500 Miles

Yeah, exactly what I was thinking, but it will be going into storage for the winter soon, so out of sight out of mind maybe.
