What do I find? I am now the owner of a 2010 Chevy CAMERO. No, I did not mistype Camaro, DMV did. This is going to drive me nuts thinking about this all the time. If it is wrong on the registration it is most likely wrong on the title also. The bank has the title so this may be hard to check and ever harder it get it fixed. Where do I go to get this fixed? The dealer, did they misspell Camaro on the paperwork they sent to DVM. Is it a DMV error and I need to take it up with them?
Hmmm. My registration says Camero as well. Since were both in Virginia and both bought from the same dealer could be either one. The funny part is that the clerk at the county office asked me if this was the new 2010 Camaro. I said (with much pride) that it sure is. He then proceded to spell it Camero on the county registration too.

Under the most strict sense of the law, technically speaking the car you own is not the car on the title. I was explained this by my own lawyer, because I had an instance a long time ago where the dealer typed the title of my car wrong (1990 Chevy Beretta GT they typed it "Betteta").

I would have everything straightened out as soon as you can. Make sure its spelled correctly on your title and on your registration.

It's funny because Geico did the same thing and for some reason it really irritated me. I called and had them change it and made them send me new insurance cards.

All you really need to do is change the Camaro badges on the sides of the car to fit the description. Maybe your insurance company has a cheaper rate for Cameros than Camaros.

The plot thickens. The same person most likley did our paperwork and sent it to DMV so it is at least possibe that the dealership is the one that missed up.

oh my dmv can beat that. i get a letter of suspension friday saying my camaro didnt have insurance for 9 days and that i have to turn in my plates for 9 days or pay a 72 dollar fine for the lapse in insurance. i call BS theres no way the dealer could have let me off the lot without insurance. so i took that little letter over to my insurance agent this morning and she said she would get on it first thing. still the point of it all.

No. My insurance dropped $10 a month after Geico changed mine from "2003 Camero" to "2002 Camaro"

Good luck getting it fixed, the DMV can do no wrong.

I have a truck that had 40,000 miles and they filled the title out at 400,000 for me.

I spoke up...too late already filled in...my burden to get it changed.
