Final Days for My Choice... Help?
Side note: I really miss having a coupe... I thought I wanted a sedan, but it's kinda "eh."
So if you hadn't read my previous thread, I want a Camaro badly (don't we all?)... but I hadn't been saving a lot (and would have to figure out how much I could possibly save between now and 3Q 2009) and I'd really appreciate keeping my monthly payments low. I'd love to get an SS with the RS package, but I may be okay with an RS (V6). I definitely want the loaded options, so my choice is between the 2LT and the 2SS, but that's about a $4000 difference in cost, given the dealer of my choice. Honestly, I'd love to trade in my G35 to take care of the vast majority of the cost of the Camaro, but my wife-to-be (counting down 98 days!) seems thoroughly interested in the G over her Elantra (who would've thought? =P). I don't have much of a problem giving it to her since she'd probably get better mileage out of it than I do (I live 2 miles away from work...) and I know it's a good car. So here's the question. My daily diver's always had a V6 (barring the Tahoe I learned on), so it's not a big deal to stick with them, but I've always been interested in a V8. Looks like I can make the V6 payments manageable with nothing more than cash down, but the V8 payments would be a little less friendly (surprise, surprise). So what do you think? Should I get a V6 now and maybe find a V8 in a couple of years? Should I just NOT pre-order and wait for a bit to get my Camaro? Should I splurge and get a V8, but have the payments be frustrating until I get my next raise (January of '10)? (The reasonable/logic side of my brain is screaming right now as I even type this all out, but if everything were reasonable/logical, would we have any fun?)

I'm in the same boat regarding payments... I just figure that I need to get what I want (the SS/RS) and not settle (the V6). Plus, I also figure that I'm going to be spending the money either way... whether I do it now, or wait till next year (my raise is in March). I will be able to comfortably afford it then... if I get it now, I can just barely afford it... but I'm going to just go ahead and do it. I am tired of always waiting for life to happen! It's time to make it happen!

I would get what you want as Who knows how long the Camaro will be available if things get bad with GM.

In this economy i wouldnt get in over your head. i have decided to go for the V6 i can afford the insurrence, gas and payments. when i go to the V8 its a beast not just in horsepower but the other money that will flow out of my bank lol. Do whatever feels right and be responsible. If you cant afford it then dont do it.
