Do you have any info on the 5.0 power upgrade?
So cool you have owned all three. Buying a new Mustang?

We will have to agree to disagree on that. But I also like the '14 refresh.

I will wait for the Shelby model, maybe that will sway me.

The 2015 Ford Mustang wouldn’t be American muscle if it didn’t come with the almighty 5.0L V-8 engine. The Coyote V-8 comes with plenty of upgrades especially when getting on that open throttle. These changes came to life from development of the special edition Boss 302. Upgrades for the V-8 engine include larger intake valves, larger exhaust valves, revised intake camshafts, revised exhaust camshafts, stiffer valve springs, new cylinder-head casting, sinter forged connecting rods, redesigned piston tops, and rebalanced forged crankshaft. The end result generates 420 horsepower and 396 lb-ft of torque. The new intake manifold features charge motion control valves to partially close off the port flow when maintaining lower engine speeds. Air charge tumble and swirl increases improved air-fuel mixing by better fuel economy, idle stability, and lower emissions. Variable camshaft timing on the intake includes a larger range of adjustment available from mid-lock phasers. This ensures optimal valve-timing over a broader range of engine speeds as well as better fuel economy and emissions. Read more: http://www.mustang50magazine.com/eve...#ixzz2miDmwR8R

I will most likely be getting one as the new refreshed camaro is not doing it for me. IMO Chevy screwed up with the camaro refresh. The 2010-2013 was perfect, and instead of building on that, they took a few steps back with the refresh. But I'd still have to see the Mustang in person, before I give my final answer.

How sure are you on that? I really hope your right but I wouldn't be too sure. The GT is no longer the 2nd highest performing or expensive car in the Mustang lineup. The base is the V6, then the turbo 4 is a upgrade, the 5.0 GT will be at the top (at least for a year or two). The new chassis, re design, engine upgrades, IRS, bigger brakes, better suspension is going to cost more money than the out going model. If the GT starts out at 35K and ends up weighing 3400lbs then that would be the bargain of the century and I would be getting me one. I just don't see it happening. Hope I'm wrong because it would be a win for everyone. It would force GM to really dig deep and make the Camaro and Vette for that matter much better than they currently are.

That Mustang won't weigh anywhere near 3400lbs with a V8 in it, that's Vette territory, and the price of the Mustang is too low to put it there. Will it be faster than the outgoing model? Probably. 500hp? Nope.

While I am excited about the refresh and cannot wait to see it in person, I have never been a fan. So no. I love the look of them (always have) but as a whole, our family has NEVER had any luck with a Ford product. I am excited to see GM and Dodge's answers to the weight and horsepower that Ford brought forth.

The early 2015 GT's are essentially going to have the current 5.0's setup with the Boss Valve springs and other goodies installed.
It's rumored that Ford has a direct injection 5.0 coming out later on that will put down some serious HP. When is the 6th Gen Camaro going to start receiving attention? I haven't heard anything about it Nick C.

35?? lbs 4 cylinder 36?? lbs 8 cylinder the probably lost 200 lbs but gained some back in added safety features and added technology looking at top of the dash i think they added HUD display. I would be better off losing weight myself and telling the wife to get out of the car for better performance. |
