It sounds awesome. It was a very nice increase in sound quality across the board. I think XM radio obtained the greatest noticeable increase, but my iPod hooked up sounds ridiculous. I could close my eyes and imagine being at a concert. There are two downsides of this system, the elimination of the pass through, and the loss of probably about 3 square feet of trunk space (11" from the back of the seat, 2' long). I would recommend the Factory Sub to anyone who doesn't utilize the whole trunk, ease of installation + sound quality = WORTH IT!

Would it be difficult to remove quickly for racing or is that out of the question?

there are only 4 bolts holding it in. So, Unscrew the bolts, unplug the wiring harness, pull it out. Could be done in probably 5 mins or less.

Yeah, I didnt do that, but I think it would be fine (safe) to do that.

need some help from anyone on this thread...what are the specs for the fuse that is embedded in the wiring harness connected to the positive terminal on the battery? picture would be awesome! i must've got the unit that was built on friday cause it was missing the fuse AND the top mount bolts.

ordered from gmpartsdirect and customer service has been lacking. local dealer doesn't want to help either. any help would be much appreciated. thanks!

It's a small 15 amp fuse. Its not you usual auto fuse though, it's probably half the size of a normal auto fuse.

I think this might be it

Can you still remove the floor mat and access the "spare tire" if needed without removing the sub? I could see this becoming a problem if you are stick on the side of the road w/o a wrench.
