Sprint Booster

Saw this on Gearhead Garage today and wondered if anyone has installed them on their ZL1? If so, what were the results.

Saw that too and found a dealer...price was $299. At that price might as well get tuned.

The way I read these you can tune the drive-by-wire throttle response

From GM High-Tech Performance:
The custom tune attacks several areas in the ECM, and there are many highlights that the guys at ECS pointed out. At the top of the list was the drive-by-wire throttle response, torque management, and skip-shift functions. Each was modified to make the car more enjoyable to drive.

Sure would.. Just depends on how the customer wants to ramp in the throttle pedal. Also a good ported TB and good CAI helps too

As per the Sprint Booster...

Its the same thing as a throttle booster that some tuners exclaim. All it does is changes the ramp-in rate and/or throttle position vs. pedal (Depending on the operating system/ECU). For a sheer example, if you are at 25% on the accelerator pedal, its really 50% open that the booster is commanding. So you think wow this car got really fast from just this.

So it just tells the computer that the throttle is just in a different position giving the feel of better throttle response? But doesn't actually change anything?

According to the tv show, there is built in lag time so when you press full throttle on the peddle it takes a second or 2 before the throttle plate gets wide open. Their demo shows reduced time for the plate response. Not just tricking it to a different position. Of course they only showed going to full throttle and not any points between or even holding so you could see it was a real demo. Still not worth it to me unless you are sure you will never tune.

I highly doubt a second or two.
I've made plenty of passes at a drag strip and never felt or datalogged any kind of measurable lag from the time I stab the gas to the time the car moves.

Finally got enough nerve to try the sprint booster, what a big difference in throttle response,my car was not lacking in that area to begin with, but the sprint boost does give the car an even better response. I have a tune,lt headers, ported throttle body and cai installed,it make the car even more fun to drive and the exhaust note is a joy to listen to upon each gear shift from my a6. Well worth every penny! It comes with a 30 day money back warranty, but I think this will be a keeper.

They work pretty good I've used them on my 370z,but as stated above a good tuner can make it do the same.
