Find a diffuser on the boards here or on ebay and install it yourself for half the cost, not that difficult. Maybe you could go painted aftermarket or paint the squares between ribs on stock.

Hey, it can be your first MOD!

Lesson here is always stop short. If you were head in you would be talking a new front bumper.:(

Lesson learned. Watch where you are parking because it's expensive to fix your car!
Maybe the sensors didn't pick up the curb. And don't you mean side mirror? I'm pretty sure you can't see where your rear tires are through your rear view mirror

Backup sensors don't work on curbs. The object has to be at least 2 feet tall to register.

Looks like its on you considering you would have had to back up beyond the actual parking spot to hit the highest point of the broken curbing. Be gratefull that the estimate is not that expensive to repair. Couldn't you save the $150 and install yourself? Seems like its just plastic rivets (clips) and screws. If so then your really only out the $109 for the part. Which isn't too bad for user error.

If he went head in I'm pretty sure he would have seen that curb, or at least I hope he would have

Hmmm I am not a lawyer nor do I play one on tv.

The only shot you have at getting the school to pay for the damage is to prove that they knew about the curb being in disrepair and didnt repair it in a timely manner. This would demonstrate negligence. You might be able to get them to at least share the expense of the repair. Otherwise chalk it up as a learning experience.

Wait - I'm confused...who else's fault would it be?

This reminds me of women who complain that the toilet seat was left up so they sat on cold (wet) porcelain. I don't know about you but I look where I am about to sit...being female does not alleviate one of that responsibility (no offense intended if the OP is a girl).

There is no law that says a curb cannot wear, shift, etc...and even if there were it would require the curb be repaired.

I suppose you could have tripped over it and banged your face up on the pavement, then you might have been able to claim negligence on their part in the lawsuit, but.....

YOU DROVE YOUR CAR INTO SOMETHING!!!

It was the equivalent of a pile of gravel.

Sorry if I sound too unsympathetic: It is a bummer, but it is your bummer.

Why is this different from a pot hole? Municipalities often are responsible for damage caused by a pot hole that has gone a while without repair. This being private property might be problematic though...

Yes you're right Xroyal I should have said side mirrors. Meybe I have extra sensitive sensors because I've backed up to curbs and had them warning me like crazy. I just know when to stop and until I got used to my Camaro, I would actually get out and look to be sure I wasn't getting too close (until I realized I could use my SIDE rvm's)

Its worth a shot to see if the school will assist. They have property insurance just like anyone else. It could save someone elses car in the event the insurance company would cover to fix their curb as well. Its worth a shot. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Since you asked, yes, it is 100 percent your fault.
