Unfortunately I don't have a garage. Unless I get married I'm stuck in the barracks. So I'm debating on purchasing my car in Missouri and just driving it when I go home on leave, until I get out. That way I can have it in a climate controlled garage and don't have to put a car cover on it and park it in a crowed lot all the time...

i gotta paint my garage floor and repaint the walls. i think im going with a dark charcoal floor and white walls with a red accent wall in the rear of the garage. i already have a tv and cabinets for the detail supplies. i think im going to get a piece of plexi glass and put it in front of my camaro in the garage so i can keep the door open and people can see it and if it rains , it wont get wet.oh yeah and im renting a giant spot light for the night i get it. im having a huge party the day it comes in. you are all invited.

HAH! i just went out and bought one too for the same reason.I have a hell of a job in front of me the next couple of months.my grandmother passed away last year and i couldn't keep paying for the storage(i was gonna filter the stuff in gradually) so i put it all in my garage.so far i have one side clean,the right wall has small fridge, storage cabinet for kitchen supplies,big workbench,big ass toolbox,another storage cabinet for all my detailing supplies,and then the air compressor near the outer door.this weekend im gonna try and mount the retractable hose reel for the air compressor on the ceiling.then after the boxes are gone i need to get the left side wall .i was thinking about getting this flooring for it but still havent decided yet

I was gonna paint, but after I read all the different requirements for prep, I figured this would be easier. Plus, I can take this with me if I move.

I'll keep that in mind. I know about the prep for painting and it sounds like a pain in the ass, but I figured it would be worth it in the end. Who knows...might just do the darn carpet anyway.

Actually, there is. It's here somewhere....I'm just too lazy to go and find it and have too many threads to get caught up on. You should see that other thread. RichieFlorida has some nice cars in his garage. There's a few others in there as well.

My biggest drawback to the painting was figuring out what to do with the car for the 72 hours plus that you have to wait for the paint to cure before you can park on it. Not to mention the need to pre-wash/etch/degrease and let that dry too........This was a no-brainer for me when I found the mats. Roll the car out, roll out the mats, roll the car back in. 30 min, door to door.......
