Car locked me out today and may be possessed
Ok so my car has been acting strange and today just topped it all off. So I went into work this morning to do PT and did my normal thing of hiding my keys inside my car because it is kinda hard to do pt with a big key fob in my pocket. Plus I always worry I will drop it or something. So of course I always leave my doors unlocked during our hour long pt sessions because we normally conduct pt in sight of my car and if we go for a run I take the key with me. Well after pt today I went to get into my car and my doors were locked !! To top it off my cell phone that has the mylink on it was sitting in my cup holder mocking me. My spare key was 30 miles away at home and I was basically sol, well almost. Luckily one of my soldiers has a S3 and I was able to download the app on his phone and unlock my doors. Then again about 20 min ago I was standing outside smoking and playing with my phone when I heard my door locks cycle from locked to open to locked again. My keys were in the house and nobody was home to touch the fob. So what in the hell is going on?? Is my car possessed of mad at me. I have now found a new spot for my keys outside of the car so it wont lock me out again.

I would take off the battery , leave it over night . My uncles truck does that sometimes and fixed it by disconnecting the battery .

Electronics tend to act strangely after getting wet. You need to keep your Camaro in the garage at all times and constantly treat it to detailing.
I'm fairly certain that some of the new GM vehicles have a timed lock. I'd keep some way to get into your car on you during PT. My Navy PT shorts have a little pocket on the inside for a CAC and a key. Try to find shorts with that.

Yea up until this happened I never heard of this before. I thought the car detected if the key was inside the car and would not lock the doors.

Last winter I had to drive my Camaro and on my way to work was fine but they didn't plow the parking lot for the motorpool and it kicked me back out into the road which was uphill and since I lost all momentum I got stuck in the snow. So I get out and move the packed snow from my tires go back to get in the car and it locked me out. Middle of the road, car running, doors locked. My phone, hat, fleece and gloves in the car and at that time I had no spare key, not to mention it was bout 10 degrees. Meanwhile my Battalion CSM drives by, everyone in the company, motorpool, hell I wouldn't be surprised if the Brigade CSM drove by since its close to brigade. All in all a total thanks to my car locking me out.
So I know your pain, been there done that. I have since gotten a spare key though thats for damn sure. Also if its only your fob or your fob and a few keys you could put it by your gas cap and shut your gas door. |

yeah had that wierd crap going on in my 2012 Sierra. That truck would randomly reprogram its self turn off the dashboard, the 4x4 stopped working, the tps would kick on horrible. It all started with beeping not from the horn but an electronic beep..
I know its hard to believe, but I wish it wasn't true.. Turned that truck into the 2013 2LT Last edited by ssrs2lt; 08-13-2013 at 06:22 AM. Reason: to early in the AM |

As long as it does not transform into an alien robot, you should be fine.
