Using factory Aux port & microphone with aftermarket radio

I've searched high and low, and cannot find a straight answer, wiring diagram, color codes, or any other information on how to do this. I'm going to be going aftermarket with my radio, and i know that you can reuse the factory usb via a usb to mini-usb cable (http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...74&postcount=4 for those who need this info). Also, if at all possible, in an effort to make this install look as factory as possible, is there any way i can tap the stock microphone in the homelink console for my aftermarket radio?

Does anyone have any information? thanks in advance

Update: cannot use factory microphone with aftermarket radio. I've done much testing and with my knowledge after converting factory mic plug to 3.5mm aux (headphone) it seems there's extremely bad interference with the factory mic on an aftermarket head unit. Microphone from factory has a proprietary impedance that will only work with mylink.

Disregard previous post! Factory microphone works very well, there cannot be any interference in the system, you can't talk too loud either because it's very sensitive but it's a great microphone.

Just wired to a 3.5mm mono plug (had to solder) and then used a blue and red wire to connect the mic, I used 2 pins also. I bought a rectifier (idk what that is) but it was from RadioShack and cut the pins off and solders the wires to those and then plugged the pins in the microphone harness

Hi,

can someone explain in more detail how to use the original microphone for a aftermarket radio?

Would be infinitely grateful!
