Canadian Deliveries
Been looking around and researching the new 1LE for about a couple months now. If all goes well, will be looking to put a deposit down towards the end of December. Just a couple questions regarding the process. I visited a local dealer a couple weeks ago and was told Canadian deliveries don't start till spring (due to risk of summer tires cracking) and they aren't accepting deposits yet. Anyone on here hear something else? If you have put down a deposit already, how much did you have to put down to secure an allocation? Cheers.

Canadian dealers already started taking deposit as of last week.
Your salesman/dealer is not working hard enough. Try other Chevrolet dealership. |

I ordered my SS end of Dec. last year.....It has Summer Only performance tires. No issue. It was delivered in March.
Could be your dealer has no Camaro allocations? Remember, it's just an SS with a Option box ticked off. There is no special ordering process or limitations. NO DEPOSIT!! NEVER!! Either they have one to sell you or they don't. In my case, I agreed to buy the car, we worked out pricing and signed on the dotted line. No deposit. As soon as the dealer had allocation, 2 weeks later, it was put through and ordered. No money changed hands.

Will visit another dealership then. Surprised there is no deposit required. This dealer wanted a deposit just to test drive a 1SS, which i wasn't able to do because the weather was near freezing and they didn't want to take a risk with the tires (understandable).

just to clarify, 1LE is now available to order in Canada. If you want to order one, you will have to put down X amount of deposit.

Order and placed $1000 deposit early December... I have a TPW of Feb 13... most likely delivered mid to end March
I was told that due to the softness of the summer performance tires they wouldn't ship during winter apparently these summer performance tires are softer than the stock SS summer performance tires and are more prone to cracking in cold Temps... hence earliest deliveries in March

Great news guys!!
I placed my order Jan 27, so I'm hoping it gets picked up soon from GM. An early April delivery would be perfect! |

Was anyone else told PDR was a mandatory option? I couldn't place the order without PDR, I don't mind because it will be fun to use but nonetheless found the restriction interesting...

I wasn't directly told by my dealer. The info regarding the PDR option I got from the forum here. Considering the 1LE is a 'track type of package' I think PDR is a fitting option. I ordered mine with it!

As of right now PDR is mandatory for the 1LE, don't know when/if this will change as it was supposed to be optional.... i had ordered without PDR, but had to add it to get my order pushed into production.... I'm glad i did, it's a cool feature and fitting for the track focus of the 1LE
