DIY engine cover question

Hi guys brand new to the forum. I have a question about painting the engine cover. I know there is quite a few threads on this but wanted to make sure of a couple things. I have a 2010 ss I just painted the fuse box cover a couple days ago and mind you I don't paint at all lol. But I used krylon fusion sunbeam with a adhesion promoter. The black part on the cover doesn't look like it needs to be sanded but the silver part that has the lettering is pretty smooth if I use the promoter is there any need to sand? Also can I still use the krylon fusion paint or does the cover get to hot for it? Thanks for any help guys. Here's a pic of the fuse box cover tell me what you all think (keep in mine first time I've painting anything) lol

I have used vinyl wrap on mine and it has held up well to the heat so far. I would imagine the Krylon would, as well. If you de-grease the cover well and use adhesion promoter, that should be sufficient.

Looks good dude. I decided not to sand when I painted mine since the surface was pretty smooth already. The promoter did a good job keeping everything together. This is about 4 months after painting.

I didn't sand mine at all. Just cleaned it really, really well. I also used the same paint as you. Krylon Sunbeam Yellow. I also used Bulldog Adhesion Promoter. After I let it sit a week, I used a black enamel paint pen by Sharpie to do the letters and chrome button head bolts along the top.

The hardest part was masking everything off.
