You'll need a tune to get rid of the CheckEngineLight. That's normal.

In case some of you are curious, here is the definition of trowing.

trow
intr.v. trowed, trow·ing, trows
1. Archaic To think.
2. Obsolete To suppose.

From what I've read, all long tubes require a tune to get rid of the check engine light.

If you actually do need new O2 sensors though, I bought some from RockAuto.com and they had a pretty good price. I've got the part numbers if ya need 'em, but it's more likely that you just need a tune.

did the same, i bought a diablosport intune i-1000 car tunner then i bought from a cmr dealer the tune to get rid of those 2 anoying check engine error codes. after installing the "tunned" software on the car its like it gained 20% more power its a huge difference, my cmr dealer is *******tune.com so far very good. btw have you heared that anoying sounds when you drive at 35 with almost no gas....its the dod mode which also is turned off when you getbyour custom tune, there are many guys wanting to charge more than $250 for a tune, but then again why pay more if this lewis guy from *******tune has them at 135... if you decide to go his way, just let him know locoycabron recommended you! cheers! happy tunning. pm me for the link!

There are LOTS of threads on this in the V8 engine section. It's what happens when you move your rear O2 sensors further down the exhaust path. They don't heat up as quickly so it throws a cat efficiency code. You can either ignore the CEL and live with the light or tune it to turn off the rear O2 sensors and tune the car for the headers. If you don't have a local shop you trust, i'd recommend Jannetty Racing. Ted will sell you a SCT tuner and tune to optimize your new power and tune your tranny, if you're a A6. It's literally a 10min job and thats just waiting for the upload/download procedures.

I would highly recommend trying this first. It's a cheap, easy fix and it may solve the problem.

Those look like the O2 extenders I used for my high flow cats.
