buying 5th 1LE? vs 6th SS
Ive been scouring the car web for months now and iam starting to see more and more 1le's. Carguru's has them listed between 24.5k-34k with low or no miles. iam ready to put down the cash for one of these and have 80% of the performance of the 6th gen SS save 10-12g. BUT should i ? i planed on getting 6G SS-MRC-npp in summer fall of 2016 but i so badly want another camaro NOW. thoughts?
P.S any ideas of when we might see the new 6g "1LE" spy shots suggest they are doing something with the SS with tires wheels and slight aero adjustment.

I haven't driven a 6th gen SS yet so I can't comment on them but I love my 1LE. The car is awesome. I love the way it rides and handles. Plus, the fact you don't see them every day is nice.

The 1LE will provide the same fun for less money. You have to ask yourself if it is worth 10-12k for the improved interior, LT1 motor, active rev matching manual and possibly MRC if you desire. Looks are subjective of course but the most agree that the Gen 5 1LE is an awesome looking Camaro with its black wheels and 285 rubber on all 4 corners, hood wrap, red brake calipers, plus all the borrowed ZL1 suspension parts to get it to handle like it is on rails.

Expand your search radius. I found 3 within 200 miles, and I only did 14-15, max of $33,000, 18,000 miles. I also always hide vehicles without photos / available pricing, or with frame damage / accidents.
Cargurus is my favorite way to search lol |

If you can find a '13 2SS 1LE for under $24K with low miles it's a no brainer.
If you start looking at spending $33k, it's too close to the price of a gen 6 1SS. |

When I was searching for my current car I was settled on a 2013-2014 GT but couldn't find one with the options I wanted and the prices were quite close to the 2015 model so I just paid a little more and got a much nicer car. Only found a couple 1LEs also as I was also interested in those at the time. |

Definitely drive the Gen6 first, to ensure you're able to make an informed decision.
A local Chevrolet salesman told me he was planning on buying a heavily discounted Gen5 but then he drove the Gen6....he is now waiting to buy a Gen6. |

If you wait then you probably won't be able to get a new 2015 1LE Camaro anymore, so if you were to get a brand new 1LE you would probably have to do it right now.
Depending on where you live you will always be able to find a 2014 or 2015 1LE on the used car market. It sounds like the new car is going to accelerate faster stock for stock but with $10,000 to $12,000 difference you can make that up. I know one tuner has a $5,000 cam and head package for the LS3 engine which gets you 530BHP and 470ft-lbs of torque for example. It is a hard one that depends on how much you love the current car and how much you love the new car. If you love the new car $12,000 more then the old one then I would say get the new car, if not then get the old car. Or you can wait to see if they make a 1LE package for even more performance on the sixth generation Camaro. |

With the 1le you would have about 99.3 % of the performance of a 2016 SS . If you could hold out it may be worth the wait but it will come at a high price . The 2015 1le camaros are going away fast and it's for good reason.
