The Kahr CW45 is a fine shooting firearm but my vote would go for the XDS 45. You just can't beat the XD platform for the price when it comes to the reliability and durability factors.

The NRA needs to make an "Enemy of the Constitution" playing card set, similar to the Iraqi terrorist playing card set.

I LOVE the XD line and would normally highly recommend it, however after shooting the XDS I would not own one in a 45, I would wait until they offer one in 9mm. To me the 45 is simply too much for such a small, light weight gun. After 5 shots I had to put it down and let my hand rest as the kick was killing my hand not to mention my accuracy was crap because of it.

I don't know anything about the Kahr so I can't comment on that but by looking at the specs I would say it would handle about the same.

You couldn't pay me money to own a Kahr. Although they aren't terrible, they are not accurate for squat out of the box (fairly long break in), the mags don't always drop free, they're about as picky on ammo as a Walther P22, and has an absurdly long trigger reset for a gun that size. I also personally feel it's overpriced for what it is, and the mag prices are pretty awful as well.

Even though the XD was 200 more, the quality showed. Tactical fiber optic sight is top notch. Has a laser mount. I have a buddy who has XD likes his alot. The XD came with two magazines, holster and magazine holster, and a very nice locking case. Kahr would have only had one magazine. I would have spent 200 on addons.....

I watched plenty of youtube and nobody said it kicks too hard. I'll find out soon.

Springfield does a great job with their guns, the XDS is no different. If you can find an extended mag it changes everything and makes it feel like a whole different gun.

Kahr. 100%. Like'em so much that I own two of them. .40 and a 9mm.

And like it was said, now you are going to have good law abiding citizens going to jail for doing nothing wrong.....at least, nothing different than what they are doing now.

Sucks that you've had the bad experiences with them.

Like I was saying, I own two of the Kahr's. .40 and a 9mm and with both of them, I've shot aces during qualifications. Both have a 3" barrel and shooting took place at the 25 yard line as well. Only as accurate as the person doing the shooting. .. Haven't had any issues with mags dropping that I can remember. I only shoot speer ammo, so I can't comment on any other type of ammo causing misfeeds, stove pipes, double feeds, etc. Trigger reset IS EXTREMELY long...you got that right. Just something you have to get used to. Overpriced? If you have issues with them, I could see it. I've had nothing but good experiences, so I'd have to say both were worth every penny. So impressed with the .40, that I bought the 9mm for the wife.

Well I think the price is supposed to reflect the quality of the gun. It's supposed to be well built, but I just had crap luck with it. I'm Sig fan myself, but I know a lot of people that won't own them. They're fairly expensive too, and some people had a bad experience when Sig was using internal extractors. The newer ones have external ones and have far less problems. All it takes is one bad gun to ruin the opinion of a brand. I know a lot of people that really like Khars. Just not me

Can I get some opinions on the best all around AR platform long gun in 308 caliber. Dont need to be the most exspensive nor the cheapest. Just an all around good reliable gun. Im mostly a hand gun, shotgun guy and not too familiar with the Ar platform nor which manufacturers are the better and which you just flat out stay away from. Appreciate anyones recomendations.
