Bought car and finished all mods in 2 weeks. The cheapest/free was the best
So 2 weeks ago I was browsing the ole interweb and doing my typical (can I find a 50th package, gray, auto, sunroof, npp, mrc, etc.) car. I didn't need a car as we have 4 already including a C7 that makes 750 rwhp but I said if I find this Camaro I am buying. None the less I did and with 4K miles and in like new condition. I immediately decided it was going to be my new commuter. LOL So the ordering began. Z28 wheels, Eibach springs, Fosgate 12" subs and Amp, MRBP exhaust, K&N intake, JW smoked side markers, OEM smoked taillights and 3rd brake light, etc... I had the mentality that I was going to do all this eventually so I might as well do it all now so I can enjoy it. Well none the less I now love the car. What I will tell you I HATED was the fact my front seats were limited in reclining. My C7 is the exact same way. I hate it. So I happened to see a thread where some guy drilled out a stopper and the seat lays down. Last night I spent 45 min following his instructions and HOLY SHEEP SHIT I recline now. That was my main complaint but today in my 1 hour commute it was great. Best mod ever. Now the second is the smoked side markers. For $89 I couldn't be happier. I think it simply changed the look of the car. I can honestly say I have not removed the cover from my C7 since I bought this car. LOL Happy Camaro owner here.
Heres a picture of the new commuter and big brother. LOL

Oh man nice ride. Where did you find the mod for the seat. I too just picked up a 2016 2 SS and i noticed that the seat won't recline all the way and that is bugging me.

Looks good. You certainly didn't waste any time getting it set up the way you want.

LOL Thanks guys for the compliments. I do feel I am fortunate to have some pretty nice cars. I will say I have worked my @ss off for these things and proud of them. Between the wife we have one of everything. I consider our stable the perfect working mans garage. No exotics nothing real fancy just nice everyday cars.

The seats don't recline because it uses the Corvette seat motor and mechanism. The stop keeps the seat from touching the panel behind the corvette seat. Thus prevents the Camaro seat from reclining.

Thanks Kayla, I am sure I am in JDP's system for something on one of my Corvettes over the years. LOL I appreciate the kind words
So After doing the Camaro seat I reached out to a buddy who converted my Sport Seats in my C7 to Competition Seats and he sent me a link. Apparently the Corvette actually has a sensor behind the seat that prevents it from leaning back to far. I guess in some adjustments the top of the seat actually rubs on the halo??? Wild stuff. I am 5'7" so I don't have that struggle. LOL Anyways next time I get in the C7 I am going to unplug the single wire behind the rear carpet and see what happens |
