The problem with replacing those arms is that, sometimes the stamped stock pieces are a LOT stronger than some tubular mass-manufactured part.

The new part may be a little lighter, but it might also be prone to failure in a high-stress road racing application. Or the stress of 100,000 street miles...

keyword being "sometimes" ive yet to see an application where stamped steel is better/stronger than a chromoly replacement.

especially when they are created for the sole purpose of racing use, whether that be road racing or drag racing

I think the double a-arms are simpler. But this one is a larger platform that's shared across a few models. If you're arguing that this is a waste of time considering the Solstice is better, I dunno about that. But I think their reasoning is a slightly larger coupe that'll fit a small block under the hood with no problem. I know the Solstice and Skye have had V8s stuffed in them, but this chassis was designed for it.

How do you figure that it's based off the Vette suspension? The Vette uses transverse leaf springs which are nothing like a Macpherson strut/multi-link setup. Zeta is new to GM and the only car available here right now that uses the same setup is the G8. I'm sure you knew that, but I don't see how you got the Vette connection.

What type of rear is this (open, LS, locker) how dose the power get to the pavyment.

V6 manual and all V8 models have limited slip. V6 auto has open.

You misread. Check out the various specifications on Chevy's website or any other thread, or re-read that same thread again. No V8 will have an open diff. It's in the PDF in this thread:

Search the PDF for "limited". The first hit will be the V6 equipment page, where it says MT only. The second hit will be the V8 page.
