Thanks for posting this. I just ordered one from JRE and was debating whether or not to paint it. You made my decision easy. It just looks kind of rice-ish to me - like an aluminum spoiler.

My apex scoop came black... For me, and maybe I did something wrong, but getting that washer bottle on was a PITA! Once I got the piece cut from inside the bumper the scoop went in fine though, I had more trouble with the bottle and running the hose to the relocation fill point.

My washer bottle was sort of a pain, too. I got the Roto-Fab one. It has a stud that fits into a rubber grommet, but the catch is, you can't see it...you just have to do it by feel. Getting that damn stud to say in place was a bit tricky, but it seems to be staying in place now.

Did you have to sand it down first?

Nope, just sprayed it right on. So far, it's holding up fine. Just make sure it says it's ok for aluminum on the paint can.

I think it'll work with any enclosed, under the hood intake (CAI Inc, Roto-etc). Definitely works on the V6. I think it showed at least a 5 HP gain when Jannetty did his tests, so that's an extra 5 HP on top of what you're already getting with the intake.

Keep in mind, the washer bottle must be moved. It really opens up the area around the intake, and the scoop channels fresh air up towards the filter.
